I'm a designer, looking for a rails developer to work on a project for me. In short, I create themes for a blogging platform and am looking to build out a premium theme customization app where people can purchase themes and choose from some customization options offered for a particular theme.

During the customization process, users will see previews of their changes on the page. These changes will require parsing an RSS feed to load in their own data during preview, displaying changes on the page using javascript, and then saving and posting the changes to an API.

All the fun, front end javascript enhancements need to be built on Prototype/Scriptaculous, NOT jQuery.

Ideally, this system will be built with MySQL to share user data with existing forum software (Invision Power Board). The system will also need to tie into a e-commerce platform.

Overview
We're looking for a Flash Developer to join our team in putting together a Flash-based multimedia website to be used for Secondary-level education purposes.

The curriculum-based content covers 5 different courses that relate to legal, human rights, and social justice issues. As users explore the site, they will find a media, which can be collected and used to create a unique movie using an integrated movie-making system. Also included in the site are a number of modules, each of which covers a different topic, and include supporting content presented in a variety of applications, as well as a centre-piece animated story to introduce the topic.

The project is in mid-stream and we need an experienced Flash Developer to get up to speed quickly, analyze the existing code and drive the Flash part of the project to finish.


Requirements

• -Advanced Object-Oriented ActionScript 3.0 skills, including PureMVC framework.
• -XML - writing, parsing, schema understanding.
• -Experience with using Web Services and SOAP. Ability to understand WSDL is essential.
• -MySQL Experience [You don't need to do any DB Design, but you will likely need to do basic SELECTs and INSERTs and UPDATEs through PHPMyAdmin]
• -Subversion / SVN Experience [checking out & committing]
• -Dedication: the project has tight deadlines and work of your teammates will depend on your work.

• -Adobe Flex experience
• -Business Analysis & Requirements experience
• -Based in the Vancouver, BC area

The Flash Developer will need to interact with the Database Administrator/backend programmer, and the Graphic/UI Designer. Interactions with the DBA will will include planning WebServices available to ActionScript. Interactions with the Graphic/UI Designer will include coming up with UI solutions to solve UI issues in an efficient manner.

Our project is under a tight timeline, so we are looking for someone who can start ASAP.
