>

Islington Square is set to welcome retailers including A.P.C, Borough Kitchen, Duck & Dry and Arlo & Jacob.

A.P.C, a Parisian label known for its minimalist, clean and contemporary design and has launched stores internationally.  It will occupy a 1,500 sq. ft. unit at Islington Square.

Alongside it, Borough Kitchen will open a cooking store and school. It will offer high-quality products, including chef-approved pots and pans, Japanese knives and outdoor grills.

Arlo & Jacob, the British upholstery designer that specialises in handmade sofas, is opening its second London store, leasing a 4,700 sq. ft. space. It will sell its bespoke, handmade collection of furniture.

Finally, in addition to the new fashion and homeware retailers, Duck & Dry will open a salon at the development. It will offer its popular hair treatments to customers, including its renowned blow-drys, trims and updos.

Neil Barber, Leasing Director at Cain International, said: “Our focus is to attract a wide range of retailers and leisure occupiers, positioning Islington Square as a truly mixed-use destination for its local community as well as visitors from further afield. The range of independent shops, cafes and boutiques will make Islington Square an experiential destination that caters for a diverse group people.

“Islington Square has the potential to attract a high footfall from Angel and Highbury & Islington stations and the local catchment; thus we want to ensure there is a wide range of tenants so there is something for everyone.”

David Caldana, Co-Founder at Borough Kitchen, commented: “As a resident in Islington, I am thrilled to be opening Borough Kitchen in this vibrant community. Islington Square is going to offer Londoners a unique dining, retail and lifestyle experience – we feel Borough Kitchen really fits in with that concept.”

These brands will sit alongside fashion, artisan and lifestyle brands, including family club; Maggie & Rose, vegan restaurant; OmNom and all day dining restaurant; Megan’s. Odeon’s first Luxe & Dine cinema and the high-end gym operator, Third Space, will also occupy space within the building.

Developed by Cain International and its partners, Islington Square is located in the heart of Islington, just off vibrant Upper Street – ten minutes’ walk from both Angel station (Northern Line) and Highbury and Islington Overground. Situated on the former site of the historic Royal Mail sorting office, the architecture blends contemporary design with its historic surroundings, transforming it into a unique North London destination – one of London’s most anticipated openings in 2019. Totalling 170,000 sq. ft. of retail and leisure space, Islington Square features two generous double height retail arcades, a tree-lined boulevard and a public realm that will seamlessly link the development with Upper Street.
