Lidl is expanding in the South.

The discount grocer announced it will build a $100 million regional distribution center in Covington, Georgia. The 925,000-sq.ft. facility will serve as a regional headquarters and will supply products to Lidl stores across the region. To date, Lidl has opened four stores in Georgia, in the towns of Augusta, Mableton, Marietta, and Snellville.

“We look forward to breaking ground on Lidl’s fourth regional distribution center in the U.S. and hiring hundreds of new team members in Georgia,” said Lidl US chairman Roman Heini. “This centrally located facility will allow us to efficiently deliver outstanding quality products to our customers at the lowest possible prices and expand our network of stores across the region.

Lidl established its U.S. headquarters, in Arlington County, Virginia, in June 2015. It currently operates more than 85 U.S. stores across nine states on the East Coast, and distribution centers in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. The company has a total of more than 11,000 locations in 32 countries.
