Airtel ties up with Amazon to offer 4G smartphones starting Rs 3,399 NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel and online retailer Amazon have partnered together to sell low-cost 4G smartphones at effective prices of Rs 3,399, under the carrier’s Mera Pehla Smartphone plan.

Customers buying any phone from over 65 exclusive 4G smartphones brands including Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honour, LG, Lenovo & Moto amongst others, will get a total cashback of Rs 2600. Of this, Rs 2000 will be given by Airtel over a period of 36 months and the additional cashback of Rs 600 will be given on Airtel recharges of Rs 169 on, one of the fastest growing mobile recharges platform in India.

Airtel recharges worth Rs 3500 must be done within the first 18 months of the device purchase to claim a first refund installment of Rs 500. Recharges of another Rs 3500 must be done over the next 18 months to claim the second refund installment of Rs 1500 to avail a total cashback of Rs 2000 from Airtel.

The additional Rs 600 will be given as cashbacks of INR 25 onto customer’s Amazon Pay balance every month for a period of 24months, after the customers make 24 Airtel recharges of Rs 169 each, which will offer unlimited voice calls and 1 GB data per day.

The country largest carrier is trying to make an open ecosystem of smartphones to counter the growing threat of Reliance Jio, which is selling both featurephones and smartphones at rock bottom prices in partnership with vendors. Jio launched the JioPhone effectively free of charge and offered a plan of Rs 49 to drive up sales.
