Hotel Chocolate encourages customers to buy Easter Eggs early amid retail disruption due to coronavirus – Retail Times

Hotel Chocolate has sent out a personal message from co-founder Angus Thirlwell asking shoppers to consider buying their Easter Eggs earlier this year due to pending disruption caused by coronavirus and is incentivising them with an offer.

In the email campaign, Thirlwell writes: “I would like to ask you to consider buying your Easter Eggs earlier than usual.

“There’s some disruption heading our way which is going to impact on the usual smooth Easter we’d all like to have. In return for getting your family Easter haul safely stashed at home a little bit earlier, I have a strong offer to put to you. So here’s my offer, open for the next few days…”

Hotel Chocolate is giving shoppers £5 off when they spend £30 or more,
£10 off when they spend £50 or more and £20 off when they spend £90 or more.

The offer can be redeemed in-store and online (using code HAPPYEASTER) and it ends on 22 March 2020.

Thirlwell said Hotel Chocolat was fully committed to keeping its guests safe. “We’re in regular contact with every member of our team, updating our contingency plans as and when necessary to safeguard the wellbeing of our staff, and our visitors at our store locations,” he said.

“Let’s act now to plan for the best Easter we can make of it together.”
