Flipkart SmartBuy launches medical essentialsNew Delhi : Walmart owned e-commerce company Flipkart has launched hand sanitisers and surgical protective masks to cater to the growing demand for medical essentials owing to the increasing cases of novel coronavirus across the country, the company said in a statement.

The e-tailer has launched these medical products under the Health+ range of its brand Flipkart SmartBuy, it said. Hand sanitiser has been launched in the form of a 500 ml bottle priced at Rs. 250. While surgical masks are available in packs of 15, 20, 30 and 50 priced at Rs.240, Rs.310, Rs.400 and Rs.575 respectively, the company said. Customers can buy these products from the company’s online shopping platform under the personal care category.

With the launch of these medical supplies, the company aims to extend its support to the nation in the fight against the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Additionally, Flipkart has also been delivering essentials and groceries to its customers via its ecommerce platform and thus ensuring the practice of social distancing, it said.

Recently, the e-tailer also partnered with cab aggregator Uber for last mile delivery of essentials to its customers in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru which would be eventually extended to other cities.

Started in 2007, the Flipkart Group includes group companies Flipkart, Myntra, and PhonePe. Myntra, which is an online fashion retailer, also recently announced its partnership with clothing brand Wildcraft to sell personal protective face masks on its e-commerce platform.
