It’s a long Black Friday at these three retailers

Kohl’s, Staples and Newegg are joining the ever-growing list of retailers offering extended omnichannel Black Friday promotions.

Retailers including Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Old Navy have all expanded the length and assortment of their Black Friday holiday sales events. Now Kohl’s, which recently unveiled its 2020 holiday ad, is kicking off Black Friday on Friday, Nov. 6 with a preview event.

Kohl’s Black Friday preview features 100 one-day online and in-store deals at 20% discount. From Nov. 7-10, the department store chain will offer another 120 deals throughout the four-day period, with new deals refreshed each day and additional savings on top categories. Customers will receive a 20% discount offer for online and in-store purchases.

From Wednesday, Nov. 11 through Saturday, Nov. 21, early Black Friday deals will include 15% off purchases both in store and online, with deeper savings for Kohl’s cardholders. Kohl’s will then offer Black Friday Week deals Sunday, Nov. 22 through Friday, Nov. 27, including online-only discounts. The retailer will also offer limited-quantity, limited-time “Super Deals” Nov. 26-27, online and in-store. Kohl’s Cyber Week begins Saturday, Nov. 28, with more details to be announced.

Meanwhile, office supply giant Staples, which is closing stores Thanksgiving, is extending select Black Friday deals to last from Nov. 22-29. Staples will also offer season-long deals on solutions like custom holiday cards and expedited UPS shipping services, and is providing online sneak peeks at select Black Friday offers.

Online electronics retailer Newegg is running a month-long promotion it calls “Black November” through Nov. 30. The event includes a gaming edition sale which runs through Nov. 8, “Black Friday Starts Early” sale Nov. 9-22, and a weeklong Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale Nov. 23-30. The return window for purchases made between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24, 2020 is extended until Jan. 31, 2021.

Newegg is also increasing staff with both seasonal holiday roles and permanent positions. Open positions will include technical roles, as well as roles in marketing, business development, and e-commerce category management. Most roles will be based at Newegg’s Los Angeles-area headquarters, while some will be based at other company locations throughout North America.
