Lir Chocolates expands its Baileys range for Christmas – Retail Times

Leading Irish chocolatier, Lir Chocolates, is expanding its Baileys range with chocolate Christmas crackers, following the success of its popular Bailey’s Chocolate pouches and selection boxes. The crackers will be available to consumers via www.lirchocolates.com and at Matalan stores for an RRP of £10 from November.

In each pack is a mix of three Original and three Salted Caramel flavoured crackers that include two Baileys truffles coated in milk chocolate shells. The products will appeal to consumers, who due to the pandemic, are seeking to indulge this Christmas with affordable luxury items.

Katie Byrne from Lir Chocolates said: “Lir produces chocolates for both Baileys and Guinness, two Irish brands that have heritage, a loyal following and always popular around special occasions such as Christmas and Easter. Consumers like to seek out well loved brands that they trust and know as it removes any residual risk, so are more likely to go with a brand they are familiar with versus one they are not.

“Due to the pandemic, more than two-thirds (70%) of UK shoppers plan to spend less on Christmas presents this year. Products like Baileys Crackers, it will give consumers a little something that’s luxury and indulgent without breaking the bank.”

Lir was founded in 1987 by Connie Doody and Mary White and since then, the craft behind truly exceptional hand-finished and hand-decorated chocolates has been central to the business. The team at Lir is constantly exploring, experimenting, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible at the hands of the modern chocolatier.
